PETER MUTHARIKA SHOULD STOP DREAMING “We are talking about Atupele Muluzi”

Chairman for Agenda for Change in Southern Region Stain Chidothe says Peter Mutharika should stop dreaming in colours because he cannot be the next president.

“Peter Muthalika is a failure. He has no leadership qualities and I must bring to your attention that he is the person who led to Bingu’s downfall. His own brother who showed him all the love he needed. In first place I must bring to your memory that there was a time when Bingu suffered with poverty in Lilongwe after he lost his job at Comesa. Those of you who understand these things will believe me. His own brother was struggling in Lilongwe when he (Peter) spent millions in USA.

And when Muluzi picked Bingu to stand on UDF ticket, he was nowhere to be seen. It was Dr Bakili Muluzi who spent sleepless nights campaigning for Bingu to the point that Bakili’s health deteriorated. Where was Peter Mutharika? And during his swearing in ceremony, he was not there to witness his own brother making a commitment to the very country he wants to lead.

But Bingu was a caring brother. He called him, helped him to be MP, gave him ministerial position and continued to fight for him after people opposed his nomination. What did he do in return? He disrespected Bingu’s body all in the name of greedy for power. He knew his brother was dead and needed proper resting place but he was all over the moon trying to destroy the very same constitution he now dreams to protect. Is that how you repay somebody, your brother who did a lot for you? He must repent.

And I don’t need to remind you how he failed our children at Chanco during Academic freedom. When he was Minister of Foreign Affairs it’s when Malawi was a victim of suspended aid by Britain for he failed to handle diplomacies. Malawians, a prophecy is not just words but even actions. God already showed us the type of person Peter is. Is this the person you want to choose in 2014? I say it’s time for the youth to change the face of Malawi. We need our “Warm heart of Africa” back to us the youth. I see all the good qualities in Atupele Muluzi," said Mr Chidothe.
